Kolkata, Feb 11: Petals Aesthetics organised a panel discussion on cosmetic gynaecology, bringing together medical professionals, industry experts, and speakers to discuss women’s intimate health, wellness, and related medical practices. The session was held on February 10, 2026, and focused on encouraging informed conversations while addressing common misconceptions around the subject.
The discussion examined cosmetic gynaecology as a field that includes functional and aesthetic procedures aimed at improving quality of life. Panelists discussed the medical, psychological, and social aspects of these treatments, with focus on patient education, ethical practice, and responsible communication.
Ms. Priyadarshini Hakim, Chief Guest, shared her perspective, stating, “It is encouraging to see such open and informed discussions taking place. Cosmetic gynaecology should always be approached through the lens of health, confidence, and well-being, not pressure or unrealistic standards.”
Actor Richa Sharma, Guest of Honour, said, “Conversations around women’s intimate health have remained limited for far too long. Platforms like this are important because they help replace hesitation with awareness and empower women to make informed decisions without fear or stigma.”
Rakesh Julka, Managing Partner & CEO, Petals Aesthetics, said, “At Petals Aesthetics, our objective is to bring the latest aesthetic gynaecology options to patients and empower them to choose what truly matters to their quality of life. This is not about vanity—it addresses important functional concerns that many women silently endure due to lack of awareness. We want to break the taboo, bring these conversations into the open, and encourage women to seek expert care as a matter of right, not indulgence. Our aesthetic gynaecology services are currently available at our Tollygunge and Kakurgachi clinics, with plans to expand further.”
The discussion also addressed the influence of social media and aesthetic trends on body image, highlighting the responsibility of medical professionals to guide patients using scientific information and sensitivity.
Panellists further discussed the importance of personalised consultation and patient-centric care, noting that aesthetic interventions should be based on medical requirements and individual comfort.
Dr. Smita Gutgutia, one of the panelists, said, “Cosmetic gynaecology is still a relatively new subject for many of us, especially in a city like Kolkata, where concerns addressed by this specialty are often left unspoken, sometimes even with doctors, friends, or family. At our practice, we want to reassure women that these are genuine medical and physical concerns. We are here to listen with sensitivity, without judgement, and to address each concern medically through a personalised approach tailored to every individual.”
Dr. Souvik Kumar Mondal, Consulting Cosmetic Gynaecologist & Aesthetician and Clinical Head, Petals Aesthetics, stated, “Cosmetic gynaecology is a functional subspecialty that addresses genuine concerns such as urinary leakage, intimate discomfort, and sexual health issues. At Petals Aesthetics, we offer customised treatments using advanced technologies like lasers, PRP, and HIFEM therapy. Services comparable to those in leading global centres are now available in Kolkata at a fraction of the cost, making quality intimate wellness care accessible to more women.”
Through this initiative, Petals Aesthetics reiterated its focus on responsible aesthetic practices and holistic healthcare. The panel discussion provided a platform for awareness, education, and dialogue around cosmetic gynaecology.
The session concluded with an interaction between the panellists and attendees, reflecting engagement and discussion around awareness-driven practices in women’s health.
