New Delhi, Dec 11: Muthoot Finance, India’s largest gold-loan NBFC, has launched its new CSR initiative ‘Muthoot Shiksha Jyothi’ – enabling smart education through digital infrastructure, with the deployment of 75 smart interactive panels, 65 Inch screens, across Governent Upper Primary and High Schools in multiple regions as part of the project’s first phase.
The programme, formally launched at Paul George Global School, Alaknanda, New Delhi, will benefit schools across Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Ludhiana (Punjab), Odisha, Mumbai, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Pune, Kolkata, Siliguri, Raipur and Guwahati. The launch event was held in the presence of Shri Vijender Gupta, Hon’ble Speaker, Vidhan Sabha, Delhi, who attended as the Chief Guest, Smt. Shikha Roy, MLA, Greater Kailash (GK) Constituency, Shri Alexander George Muthoot, Joint Managing Director, Muthoot Finance, and Shri George M. George, Deputy Managing Director, Muthoot Finance.
Speaking at the launch, Shri Alexander George Muthoot, Joint Managing Director, Muthoot Finance, said, “Education continues to be the cornerstone of our CSR philosophy, accounting for nearly 75 percent of our overall CSR spending. Through ‘Muthoot Shiksha Jyothi’, we are strengthening digital infrastructure in government schools to enable better access to technology-driven education for students across regions.”
Mr. George M George, Deputy Managing Director, Muthoot Finance, said, “Our CSR approach is focused on creating long-term impact at the grassroots level. With ‘Muthoot Shiksha Jyothi’, we are addressing a real infrastructure gap by enabling access to digital learning tools that can support both teachers and students in everyday classroom instruction.”
The smart interactive panels introduced under the initiative are aimed at enhancing classroom engagement, enabling digital teaching tools, and reducing the digital divide in public education systems. Following the implementation of the pilot phase, Muthoot Finance will undertake an overall review of the programme’s outcomes and on-ground execution. Based on the learnings and the demonstrated impact of the initiative, Muthoot Finance will further expand Muthoot Shiksha Jyothi to additional locations in subsequent phases, aligned with regional requirements and priorities.
