Noida International University (NIU) successfully concluded URJA 2025, its biggest-ever intra-school sports tournament, marking three days of high-energy performances, spirited participation, and an inspiring display of athletic excellence. With 1,000+ student-athletes from 13 schools, the event became one of the most vibrant celebrations of sportsmanship, teamwork, and campus unity in NIU’s history.
The tournament witnessed remarkable achievements across schools. The School of Engineering and Technology (SET) clinched the Overall Championship, while the School of Sciences (SOS) earned the Runner-Up title. Various schools showcased exceptional talent NIIMS excelled in table tennis and basketball, SOAHS dominated athletics and tug of war, and SET performed strongly in chess, volleyball, and team events reflecting NIU’s diverse and robust sporting culture.
URJA 2025 featured an extensive lineup of sports, including cricket, football, basketball, badminton, athletics, chess, volleyball, table tennis, and tug of war. The festival-like atmosphere across NIU’s grounds highlighted the institution’s commitment to providing world-class sports infrastructure and fostering holistic student development.
The inauguration ceremony graced by Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj (Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Tanya Singh (Dean Academics), Dr. Tanveer Ahmad Wani (Dean, Quality Assurance & Accreditations), and Lt Pratima Pandey (Director of Sports & Dean of Student Welfare) set the tone for the event. A dynamic fusion dance by Udgam (NSS & NCC cultural team) and the ceremonial torch relay symbolized unity and the spirit of fair play.
Throughout the tournament, NIU students demonstrated discipline, strategy, and exceptional sportsmanship. The closing ceremony, led by Sudanshu and Ojashwani, celebrated not only the winners and runners-up but also the dedicated coordinators, volunteers, and mentors who made URJA 2025 a resounding success.
